Rainy, sleepy Sunday night vibes. 🌧 💤 Perfect end to a perfect birthday weekend with these two.

So, this is 35. I’ll take it! Kicked off my 3.5 decades by typing “The End” on my 30th book (would have been soooooooo much cooler if it were the 35th book). After 8 straight days stuck in the house with the flu + deadline, got some much needed fresh air by spending my birthday in Central Park with Bailey and @anthonyledonne, the occasion made even more birthday-ish by an outdoor rosé at @tavernonthegreen and a spontaneous late lunch at @barbouludny (props for allowing dogs on the patio!) Next up, @westbankcafenyc, my home away from home and go-to for all holidays and special occasions. A very NYC type of birthday, and absolutely perfect ❤️

I almost never talk about my family or people in my personal life to respect their privacy (except for @anthonyledonne who’s plenty out there on social media in his own right!) but it’s #nationalsiblingsday so meet ... SIS!!!!! Her name is Allison/Allie/S-I-S/Cheese, she’s 4 years and 4 months younger than me. We get along weirdly well ... I can’t even remember our last fight. It probably involved a Barbie and she probably won because she’s incredibly scrappy. She’s also athletically-inclined, pretty, and super smart, and I totally grew up the nerd to her popular girl, but never held it against her because she was nice to her older/shorter/quieter sister. We grew up in Federal Way, WA together (obv.), and in our adult life, we’ve lived in Seattle, Chicago, and New York at the same time. Even the same building a few times! She’s in Denver now, so we make do with texts, mainly consisting of FRIENDS quotes, discussion on whether or not giving up cheese would be worth banishing bloat forever (no), and important talks like “if you could only eat one fruit for the rest of your life...” You know. Deep topics like that. Anyway, that’s Sis, everyone! Happy National Sib day, Sister, don’t be mad at me for posting your pic without asking 😬😬😬

Weekend vibes 🍸🖤 Sidecar cocktails were courtesy of @anthonyledonne, but setting a leftover chunk of @boursincheese (my favorite!) on a platter with slightly stale crackers? Alllllllllll me. We could argue all day about who’s more handy in the kitchen, but I think it’s pretty clear 🙋🏻‍♀️

This is one of my favorite quotes, and so far it's helped me finish my daily wordcount, as well as copyedit (Oxford) and proofreading (21 Wall Street) deadlines, but it remains to be seen if it'll get me to the gym 🤔 also, super excited to get a text from my mom this morning with a picture of an article in the Wall Street Journal featuring I THINK I LOVE YOU!
