Writing Template: Romance Blueprint

Writing Template: Romance Blueprint

So, you’re a romance writer. You’ve done your research on outlining, you’ve researched Joseph Campbell’s hero journey, you understand that character development is just as vital as plot, but you’re not quite sure how that all fits together within the structure of a romance novel.

I’ve got you covered. My Romance Blueprint is a variation of the Novel Storyboard (which is applicable to all genres of fiction), but is specifically tailored to the development of a romance novel. It takes into account the fact that we often have two protagonists, not the usual one. It takes into account that there is often not an identifiable antagonist in romance, as well as accommodating for the planning of scenes like the first kiss, the first sexy time-scene, etc.

What you get:

  • A 2.5 page welcome letter and how-to guide from Lauren Layne

  • An 11-page printable* template divided into the following sections:

This is the first template I reach for when starting any new story. I hope you find it as useful as I have over thirty-or-so books!
